Kristina Salinovic started modelling when she was nineteen years old. Until then, she dreamt about just being young and having fun. Once her friends pushed her to test her talents on the catwalks, she immediately felt like she was born for the job. The traveling, the clothes, the fashion shows and the spotlights were doing her nothing but great things. Add to that her exotic look and you got an amazing Croatian model that enjoys presenting different aspects of her personality every time she has the chance.
Rocking the Runway
After switching a few modeling agencies, Kristina Salinovic’s career was officially launched. She debuted at the Spring 2011 Osman show during London Fashion Week. During the same Fashion Week, she also walked for Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Richard Nicoll.
Salinovic’s stardom shined and in Paris Fashion Week she got to open the Louis Vuitton Fashion Show. According to her, this is by far her greatest achievement as a model. Apart from this show, Salinovic appeared in Vivienne Westwood and Emanuel Ungaro runway shows.

She was born in Switzerland, won a modeling contest at the age of 16 and currently enjoys traveling the world. Fun fact: She would love to meet Marilyn Monroe face to face. Julia Saner is our Model if the Week.
Stunning Julia Saner wants to change the way ordinary people think about models. On an interview she gave to NY Magazine, Saner admitted that being a model is not as easy as it seems. According to her, you must be more than just a pretty face in order to run a successful international career. You have to make the right choices, collaborate with professionals that can lift your career and pay attention to both your heart and your goals.
Saner was born and raised in Switzerland and in 2009 won the International Elite Model Look contest. In the same year, 16 year old Saner signed her first modeling contract. Less than one year later she already took her first steps as an international model.
Rocking The Runway
Julia Saner’s first appearance on the catwalk was during Gucci’s Fall 2011 show at Milan Fashion Week. That fashion week was very successful for the new model. Apart from Gucci, she also made some high-profile appearances on the catwalks of D&G, Roberto Cavalli, Moschino, Salvatore Ferragamo and more.
After such a great opening start, Saner’s star was raised and she got booked for few fashion shows in Paris. Paris Fashion Week was a great turning point for Saner. The young Swiss model walked for legendary fashion houses, such as Givenchy, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen. All those fashion shows were great, but for Saner the most distinguished show was Valentino’s. The rising model opened Valentino’s runway show, and that appearance led her to becoming one of the faces of the luxury fashion house.

Guess couture doesn’t end in Paris! For the first time ever, Dolce & Gabbana presented a couture collection for their brand. While press wasn’t allowed into the event, they did invite a select few including Franca Sozzani, Anna Wintour, and Scarlett Johansson. During her fashion week season debut, she walked for 9 top designers and brands. Her unique look and strong appearance on stage earned her the 3rd spot on FashionTV’s Spring 2012 First Face countdown. She’s also known for playing guitar for model pals backstage before a show.
She’s been recognized as a rising star and today, she’s one of the most familiar faces on the catwalk. Julia Nobis is our Model of the Week.
Julia Nobis started modeling locally in 2009 at the age of 16. The Australian blond model caught the eyes of scouts and fashion producers and in 2010 at 17 years old, she received a modeling contract at Elite Models Management.
Rocking the Runway
Nobis’s first time on an international catwalk was during Calvin Klein Fall 2010 in New York. She walked exclusively for the American fashion house. But this was just the beginning of a wonderful fashion experience for the Aussie transplant.
The next step on Nobis’s modeling career was during the same season, but this time on the runways of London Fashion Week. The young model got to open the fall Topshop show in London, and also closed the Richard Nicoll show.
While Nobis was on the catwalks of London, she got invitations for Milan and Paris. The Australian rising star walked the Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Maison Martin Margiela and Miu Miu Fall fashion shows. After these appearances, she was quickly known as one of the top ten best newcomers in the fashion world to date.
Later in 2010, Nobis walked her first couture show. It was for Valentino Haute Couture in Paris.
The great year continued into the Spring 2011 fashion shows. She opened and closed the Proenza Schouler fashion show and also walked for Burberry, Alexander Wang, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Balenciaga runways. She also presented looks at the spring Chanel and Elie Saab couture fashion shows.
During Spring 2012, Julia Nobis was already a familiar name on the catwalks. That season she opened the Peter Som, Rebecca Taylor, Son Jun Wan, Dries van Noten, Pedro Lourenco and Alexander McQueen fashion shows in New York and Paris. She closed the Viktor & Rolf, Son Jung Wan and Proenza Schouler fashion shows.

At fifteen, South African beauty Candice Swanepoel, was scouted while shopping in a local flea market. Little did she know that this shopping spree back in 2003 would change Swanepoel’s ordinary life into a rollercoaster of catwalks, fashion magazine covers, ad campaigns and a lot of attention from the fashion industry.
One year later, sixteen year old Swanepoel was earning approximately 5,000 Euros for a day’s work. Nowadays, she has become one of the world’s most successful models and was recently ranked in 10th place on Forbes’ list of highest paid models in the world, with earnings of about 3.1 million dollars.

Candice Swanepoel’s debut was at the 2006 Tommy Hilfiger Spring Fashion Show in New York. That same season she walked for Dolce & Gabbana during Milan Fashion Week. She worships Daria Werbowy and Coco Rocha, she is one of the hottest rising models out there and Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana are just a few of the top designers she has already worked with. That said, Canada’s Kate King is our Model of The Week.
Kate King’s look is certainly not common on the catwalks. She is Brunette with hazel eyes in an era that blonde and bright dominates the runway. Still, the young model seems to be everywhere. From billboards to the famed fashion shows of Milan, Paris and New York, King’s career has only begun.
It began in 2006, when 13 year-old King went with her mom and two sisters to watch a musical on Broadway, when a stranger approached King and asked her if she modeled. Though King hoped she would one day work the runway, she decided to first complete her High School degree. At 17, Kate King walked in for an interview at Elite Models Agency, in which she was signed on the spot.
Rocking the Runway
The young Kate King first debuted on the runway during the Fall Rag & Bone fashion show in New York. In addition, she walked for Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs. As she was strutting her talent in New York, King was already booked for Milan Fashion Week.
In Milan she received the chance to open the Fall Moschino show, in which she later admitted to during an interview that it was an amazing experience. As well as Moschino, King walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Missoni and Pucci.
King also graced at Paris Fashion Week. The Canadian walked for Dior, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Lanvin and Nina Ricci. No doubt about it, Fall 2011 was a highlight season for King!

Nineteen year-old Kate King did not land on a magazine cover yet, however, she was photographed for quite a few prestigious fashion magazine productions. In 2011, King was photographed for i-D, Another and Love magazines. The same year, she posed for Swedish photographer Kacper Kasprzyk for Dazed and Confused magazine.

Shortly after walking for Dolce & Gabbana, King worked along with the duo Italian designers once again. The Canadian model appeared on the brand’s Fall campaign as well as for Topshop.

Is the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala one of the biggest fashion nights of the year? FashionTV would answer that question with a resounding YES!!!
What makes the night so special? Well, besides the Museum’s Costume Institute is opening a months long exhibit highlighting something or someone outstanding in fashion, the biggest designers, celebrities, and models arrive in the finest couture to pay homage to the opening display and of course, honor the designer or designers being showcased at the exhibit. And the best part--many of the celebs arrive on the arms of a designer who is escorting them to the ball, like Cinderella.
Like the celebs, the models do this, too. Often you’ll see models arriving on the arm of a particular designer who has created their stunning gown or ensemble. Sometimes it has to do with the model and designer being close friends, as in the case of Anja Rubik and Anthony Vaccarello, for instance. Or sometimes it has to do with the model being the face of the brand, like Burberry who dressed their girls Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
There are other reasons why particular designers choose to dress particular models. Not all of them are widely known. Whatever the case, it’s always fun to watch the beautiful models sashay down the red carpet on the arm of our favorite designers which this year, besides Miuccia Prada, of course included the likes of Tory Burch, Stella McCartney, Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Thakoon, Olivier Theyskens, Olivier Rousteing, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Roland Mouret and more!

Many comments of the evening had to do with Anja Rubik’s hip jutting out like Angelina Jolie’s right leg. We’re not sure if the pale color of this dress is suitable for a knockout like Rubik, but the Anthony Vaccarello creation sure is stunning. And we’re not surprised the designer chose pal Rubik to wear his designs. She also closed his Fall 2012 show this season.
