First look: Angelina Jolie in the leading role of Disney’s film Maleficent. The smoky look created by legendary movie makeup artist Rick Baker, drastically turns Jolie into darker and sexier than ever.

The Sleeping Beauty is one of the classic fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm. In 2014 we will get a chance to see a new and dark Hollywood version of the familiar story. The basic plot stays the same – Maleficent – the evil fairy – was not invited to the christening of Princess Aurora’s baby, putting a curse on the infant. The little Princess was supposed to prick her finger and die before the sun sets on her 16th birthday.

Hollywood director, Robert Stromberg, decided to give the classic tale a new dimension. On his new adaptation for the tale, Stromberg chose to focus on the Mistress of All Evil Maleficent, and put her at the heart of his new motion picture. The leading role was given to Hollywood’s sexiest and most mysterious actress – Angelina Jolie.

Though we can’t see the full set yet, check out this first picture of Jolie as a modern Maleficent. The yellow-green eyes, black horns and pronounced cheekbones only add sex appeal and dramatic aspect to one of the most desirable women on earth.

Alongside Jolie the movie stars Elle Fanning, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Juno Temple. Filming started in the beginning of June in London, and the movie is set to be released in March 2014. Until then you can stare at Jolie’s Maleficent photo and wonder whether the dark side has ever been sexier...
