The very first London Collection: Men started with The Prince of Wales and ended with Elton John and Burberry hosting a cocktail party. These spectacular fashion shows expressed how a full week of menswear was necessary both for the designers and the fans.

Up until this year, London’s Menswear Fashion Shows were all presented during the last day of the British Women Fashion Week. Now, The British Fashion Council has decided that British males deserve more. A long weekend of new collections, interesting catwalks and tons of good looking guys were established, and now that it’s over it can officially be announced as a phenomenal success.

London Collections: Men was launched during a party hosted by The Prince of Wales, who once said his fashion sense changes once in 25 years. Whether Prince Charles’ fashion clock is ticking or not, the first ever London Men’s Fashion Week has brought new spirit and trends for men.

The schedule of London Collections: Men included new designers along with some of the Kingdom’s top brands. Great designers such as James Long and Christopher Shannon revealed their new lines for Spring 2013. Jonathan Saunders also exposed his newest menswear line and the famous Richard Nicoll used London’s catwalk in order to launch his first-ever men’s collection. Topshop – the British high-street brand – also took a part in the celebration and gave a clue on what we are going to see next summer.

Elton John and partner David Furnish were front row at the Richard James show. James’  revealed a kaleidoscopic collection, which included velvet blazers, linen suits and some gorgeous printed shirts. The pop star arrived to the show wearing a light purple suit and yellow glasses that perfectly fit the stylish atmosphere.

Legendary fashion brand Burberry celebrated the end of the weekend with a luxury cocktail party. Ancient heritage and delicate styling were only a part of the amazing atmosphere.

According to the enthusiasm, high responsiveness and great public relations, this first menswear Fashion Week is just the beginning of another fashionable British tradition.
