The best French designers have gathered and revealed their menswear for Spring 2013. Though Milan Fashion Week set a very high bar, this Paris Men Fashion Week was a huge success.

Here are 4 shows that left quite an impression of this fashion extravaganza:

Givenchy – Religion at its Best

Givenchy’s Spring 2013 collection was nothing like any other fashion show. Chief designer, Riccardo Tisci, chose to follow his heart and had the courage to reveal religion in a very fashionable way. Almost half of the looks included printed sacred images – haloed churchman, Jesus Christ on a cross and devout saints.

The very long runway Tisci chose for the show only added to the religious atmosphere. Apart from the prints, Givenchy’s new collection featured layered suits, leggings, and jackets, which created a modern-artistic-sophisticated fashion show, that allowed religious icons to become a part of the industry. No doubts Givenchy presented one of the most memorable and talked about fashion shows this season.

Lanvin – Elite Masculine Fashion

Unlike recent collections by Lanvin, this time designer Alber Elbaz chose a much more masculine path. Most notable on Lanvin’s collection for Spring 2013 were leather items, including shirts and ties, high-waist pants with oversized white shirts and glam silver suits. This runway showcased how the elite fashion house understands the men who want to dress in unique ways, and offers some very interesting and innovative ideas.

Louis Vuitton – Going on a Fashionable Voyage

Ocean cruising, yachting, surfing and deep sea diving. No, this is not a National Geographic program, it’s Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2013 collection. Designer Kim Jones took the Vuitton spirit and gave it a new touch. Cashmere scuba suits, leather life vests and high-tech accessories made this show extremely colorful and full of adventure. Whether sailors would sail wearing Vuitton or not, Jones developed an entirely new vision to the traditional French fashion house.

John Lawrence Sullivan -Thinking Out of the Box

Arashi Yanagawa is the talented designer by John Lawrence Sullivan for Paris Men Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013. The label was named after an American boxer from the 19th century, paying homage to the designer's own past as a professional boxer. The collection was as strong as Yanagawa himself with bold colors and geometric prints. Pants were slim and knitwear was inspired by Bauhaus architecture.

There was a new jacket shape that looked both futuristic and finessed with bright blue and red striped jackets and suit shorts that added a bit of fun. the accessories are one of the best parts of the show, with chic bags, sunglasses, hats and much more.
